  • For those looking for more entertainment and less chatting, this social could be great for you. There will be a short meet up before the musical starts where you can have some food and a natter to some fellow delegates before heading into the theatre to be thoroughly entertained.

    Carriageworks Theatre presents 'Julie: the Musical' which tells the tale of the historical LGBTQ+ historical figure Julie D'Aubigny. Written by Abey Bradbury, Carriageworks Theatre says 'JULIE: The Musical celebrates this extraordinary life, queerness and carving a place for yourself in a world not built for you'.

    Food and networking will start from 6.30pm in the Millennium Room at the Carriageworks Theatre, and the musical will start at 7.30, running for 2 hours including the interval.

  • For people perhaps looking for a different kind of social, join us for a Salsa Class and tapas at Casa Leeds. Maybe sitting down all day at Conference has left you feeling the need to move your body a little bit? Now's your chance!

    Casa Leeds has a bar so once you've finished your lesson and food you can stay and chat with the rest of the group or you can go your own way.

  • This smaller social, sponsored by Art Fund, offers you the opportunity to socialise in a quieter environment.

    We’ll be heading to the Henry Moore Institute for an evening of culture and conversation, where you’ll have the option of joining a guided tour of ‘The Weight of Words‘ exhibition, followed by delicious drinks and nibbles with friends.

    Included in your AMA Conference ticket cost are drinks and canapes.

  • Celebrate the mid-way point of the AMA Conference at our Summer Social.

    This year’s main event will take place at The Tetley, where delegates will be treated to a veggie/vegan BBQ.

    This is the social for you if you enjoy a lively atmosphere and would love to meet lots of people.

    The BBQ and a welcome drink are included in your AMA Conference ticket cost, and there will be a cash and card bar available for any additional refreshments.

The AMA Conference social events offer you the chance to re-charge and build your networks.

The main socials take place on Thursday 13 July, with various starting times from 7pm. You'll be able to chose from a huge variety of different events, designed for people who like to meet and connect in different ways. Please read the social descriptions for more information. 

Please note: some socials have a limited capacity and will be subject to availability. Places at social events are booked on a first-come first-served basis, so we can't guarantee availability unless you book early.
